Find the airlines that service the airport you are traveling to. Smaller airports will often feature charter airlines. These airlines may not show on the travel sites, but can often offer great deals versus the big airlines.
When staying at a hotel in a foreign country and it worries you at night whether someone might try to break into your room, bring along a doorstop. The little rubber or wooden wedges that hold doors open can also hold doors closed.
If you’re traveling somewhere where you’ll need tickets, like amusement parks or a play, look for ways to have them ahead of time. You might have to pay a little extra for the convenience, but you won’t have to bother with long lines when you get to the attraction. If the park uses a timed entry system, you won’t need to wait in line to enter, either.
For extra safety when staying in a hotel, bring a door stopper with you. Sometimes, especially when traveling in less developed countries, it is desirable to have a little bit more security in your hotel room at night. Put the wedge in and then put on the deadbolt and chain for extra security.
Select a pair of shoes you will comfortable in and can remove easily for air travel. Security checks at airports now require you to remove your shoes. Comfort is extremely important. You don’t need a lot of support for a little walking and a lot of sitting. Canvas mules or other comfortable sandals are ideal wear during travel.
Carry something with you that has the information for your hotel, like a matchbook or a business card. This one little item can save you and get you back to where you need to be in case you get lost in a foreign land. This is useful for people that do not quite understand the language.
